Food Network at home

This is a little film clip showing what I did last weekend...cooking classes! A couple guys in my college and career group were interested in acquiring new culinary skills so we got together and I taught them how to make a few, easily main dishes. The theme ingredient? Ground beef. As you will glimpse, we made stuffed bell peppers, meat loaf, and tacos! Bon Appetite!

The guys looked liked they had a good time, plus enjoying the results. Way to go Cathryn.

Thanks Mum! They really did have fun.
Has anyone had trouble viewing the video? I am wondering if the file is too big. I'll keep working on it.

Cathryn,

I have a few comments that I posted on Jacob's website. Here they are:
i'm seeing some errors in this cooking technique. 1. no gloves. 2. chopsticks would be easier to stir.
you know how much bacteria is in uncooked meat?

Though they may seem like errors there are reasons:

1) Not all hands-on kitchen work requires gloves. Infact most don't. Never fear though. I made sure my pupils washed their hands before AND after cooking tasks.

2) chopshicks don't work well for the mixing part of meatloaf. It's rather like...mixing a mud pie with twigs?! I must say that it would be interesting to try cooking something else with them some time though! : )

oh, i have to show you what i mean by using chopsticks. its not the normal way of holding them, you just hold both of them together and use it as a "stick" as you call it. when i steam ground pork with egg and shitake mushrooms, onions and carrots in a bowl, i find it much easier to use the chopstick method. using that method gets it very evenly mixed.
