Heart of the Matter Monday

Welcome to the first Heart of the Matter Monday weekly postings.  It should be stated that I snagged the title from the daily devotional book with the same name. While not all of the quotes provided each Monday are from the book Heart Of the Matter, many (if not most) of them are.  I have experienced such blessed conviction and encouragement through the daily readings that I thought I would share some of them with you.  It is my desire that each of Monday's quote will point you to Christ.  After all, what our hearts do with Him each day is the most significant part of our day.  That is the real “heart of the matter.”

“ The heart is the real or essential you.  The heart is the steering wheel of every human being.   Everything we do is shaped and controlled by what our hearts desire.  That is why the Bible is very clear that God wants our hearts.”

Done...Done...Done Done....with the DI

It’s like meeting that friend that you haven’t spoken to or seen for years. Your questioning, searching glances meet, then drop, then meet again as you realize, that IS her!  “Its SO good to see you!” you cry.

Then you spend the next several awkward minutes trying to figure out how to reconnect with this person you used to be so close to but have lost some connection with.

That how I feel about re-entering into the blog world after so long a silence…after such a long lapse with no updates.  I suppose it is the same as greeting your friend… just say something, show you are genuine and over look any awkwardness.

So let me get right to the point…

I AM DONE with my dietetic internship (DI)!!!! I can’t believe it!  Ten months of hard work that are gone and behind me.  It is difficult to say anything about it now….how am I supposed to adequately describe some of the momentous and/or most difficult moments now, after the fact?  I do have some posts that I wrote during the last 10 months that I never got around to posting which I might post later so as to give you an idea of what internship life it like.  But for now, let me just say that Christ is the one who carried me through!!  I am so thankful for the upholding of His Hand and Word, the strength of my family’s love, the great group of 14 other interns in my program, and my supportive Dietetic Internship Director.

This week was (is!) my first week completely free and I have had a great time so far caring for mom (she’s been sick with a nasty virus), doing laundry, cleaning,  tending plants, grocery shopping, washing my car, cleaning inside my closet, dresser and bathroom cabinets, and sorting…sorting…sorting the mountains of paperwork I accumulated during my internship!

I’ll have more to tell about these projects as well as my plans for the future… but for right now…welcome back (to me!)
